Festivals in Surigao That You Should Not Miss!


Kaliguan Festival (June 21-25)

A yearly festival in honor of the patron saint St. John the baptist. Kaliguan means to take a bath or to get wet. The highlight of this festival is the Perlas ng Kaliguan beauty pageant and the beach dancing (instead of street dancing).  This is celebrated in Cagwait, Surigao del Sur every June 21-25.


Pahinungod Festival (July 15)

This is a yearly festivity in honor of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. Pahinungod is a Bisaya/Cebuana term which means dedication. The highlight of this festival is the Mardi gras along the streets of Carrascal, Surigao del Sur. Celebrated every 15th of July.


Lanuza International Surfing Festival (4th week of November)

Lanuza International surfing festival is an invitational international surfing competition with top surfers from all over the Philippines and outside the country. It happens every last week of November.
